Plastic Surgery in Northern Cyprus — Dr. Meyzin and Team

Aesthetic surgery is a planning process, not simply a decision to operate. At Nis Clinic, Op. Dr. İbrahim Meyzin and his team begin every patient journey with an in-depth consultation. Anatomy, lifestyle, and expectations are mapped into a structured, evidence-based plan.

Dr. Meyzin has 21 years of medical experience, 13 of which have been spent in active surgical practice in Northern Cyprus (TRNC). He holds four peer-reviewed publications in international journals and has presented at the WSRM Helsinki and EFSM Genova congresses. He is the sole authorised practitioner of Mia FemTech breast implants in Northern Cyprus.

Every patient follows a four-stage pathway: Consultation (online or in person, 30–45 minutes), Planning (anatomical assessment, visualisation, surgical scheduling), Surgery (fully equipped private hospital, with a dedicated anaesthetist), and Follow-up (check-ups at week one, month one, month three, and year one). For patients travelling from abroad, Nis Clinic coordinates the full medical tourism package — accommodation, airport transfers, and interpreter services are all arranged by our team.

Hair transplantation is treated as a separate speciality; those services are listed on the hair transplant hub page.

Choosing the right surgeon for aesthetic surgery

Surgical outcomes depend on two variables: the correct indication and the surgeon's experience. An incorrect indication produces a gap between expectation and reality even with the most advanced technique. Insufficient experience raises the risk of complications even when the indication is sound.

At Nis Clinic, the first question asked for every patient is: "Is this procedure necessary, is now the right time, and is this the right technique?" Dr. Meyzin applies the discipline of academic practice — he will actively advise some patients against surgery, and direct others towards a less invasive alternative. The clinic's approach is to reach the right decision together, not to recommend an operation at every turn.

The aesthetic surgery services available at Nis Clinic in Northern Cyprus are grouped below under breast, face, body, and genital categories. Each service page covers the technique in detail, the process, the recovery timeline, and indicative pricing.

So why choose Cyprus (TRNC) for plastic surgery? We set out the honest framework for our patients from abroad at the outset: Cyprus is not a discount island; it is a reasonably priced and easily reached choice in which the surgeon is involved throughout your case.

  • The same surgeon at every stage. Consultation, planning, surgery, and follow-up run with the same team, and Dr. Meyzin performs the surgical procedures personally. We do not use the model in which a technician runs the operation and the doctor merely supervises.
  • Cost is accessible without compromising the standard. Operating and currency differences place it noticeably below the UK average, and broadly comparable with quality clinics in Türkiye.
  • Privacy and rest together. You can spend your 7–10 post-operative days on the Kyrenia coast, in a calm and temperate setting. Lower stress during recovery makes a genuine clinical difference.
  • Travel is short. Roughly 1 hour 15 minutes from Istanbul and 4–4.5 hours from London; arrival via Larnaca or Ercan, with transfer coordination handled by us.

We work in fully equipped private hospitals with an anaesthesia team and intensive care facilities; declining to operate on a patient who is not a suitable candidate is equally part of that approach to safety.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an age limit for aesthetic surgery?
As a general rule, surgery for patients under 18 is considered only when there is a clear medical indication. There is no upper age limit; suitability is determined by overall health status. Cardiovascular and metabolic risk assessment is carried out for every patient prior to any procedure. Rhinoplasty is typically recommended from age 18 onwards; breast surgery from age 20 onwards.
How long does recovery typically take?
Recovery varies by procedure. For liposuction or blepharoplasty, most patients return to social activities within 5–7 days. For rhinoplasty and breast augmentation, the return-to-social window is 7–10 days; for abdominoplasty and facelift, 10–14 days. Strenuous activity and sport are deferred for 4–6 weeks following all major procedures. Final results settle over 3–6 months as swelling resolves and the skin adapts.
How does a consultation work?
We offer two formats: online (Zoom or WhatsApp video call) and in person at Nis Clinic in Nicosia. In both cases, a 30–45 minute appointment gives Dr. Meyzin the opportunity to take a full medical history, carry out an anatomical assessment, explain appropriate techniques and alternatives, and outline the expected outcomes and possible complications. Consultations are free of charge and involve no sales pressure.
How does the medical tourism process work?
For patients travelling from abroad, the Nis Clinic team builds an end-to-end plan: online consultation, surgical date, flight coordination, airport transfer, hotel or serviced apartment accommodation, interpreter services (where needed), and postoperative appointment scheduling. Medical tourism package pricing is transparent; there are no unexpected costs after the procedure. A clear breakdown is shared at the consultation.
How many days do I need to stay in Northern Cyprus?
The recommended stay ranges from 3 to 10 days, depending on the procedure. For rhinoplasty and breast surgery, we typically plan 5–7 days; for abdominoplasty and facelift, 7–10 days. The first 24 hours are spent under hospital or clinic observation; the remaining days cover accommodation and follow-up appointments. Clearance to fly is given by the surgeon; an early departure may increase the risk of complications.
Can more than one procedure be performed in the same session?
Certain combinations are appropriate — for example, liposuction with Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), or breast augmentation with abdominoplasty (sometimes called a "mommy makeover"). The decision is based on a careful calculation of total operating time, anticipated blood loss, and recovery burden. Combined procedures exceeding 8 hours are divided into two separate sessions for patient safety. Every case is assessed together with the anaesthetist.
How is pricing determined?
Price is calculated based on the procedure, technique, implant or consumable requirements, anaesthesia duration, and the number of hospital nights. There is no fixed price list; a clear, personalised quote is provided at the end of the consultation once the plan is established. For medical tourism patients, accommodation, transfers, and follow-up can be included in the package. Instalment and payment plan options are available.
Which aesthetic procedures are available in Northern Cyprus?
All major aesthetic surgery procedures offered by Nis Clinic are performed in fully equipped private hospitals in Northern Cyprus: rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, mastopexy, breast reduction, Mia FemTech, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), liposuction, Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), facelift, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), brow lift, arm and thigh lift, gynaecomastia, and genital aesthetics. The anaesthesia team, intensive care facilities, and emergency response infrastructure meet European standards.
Is plastic surgery in Cyprus safe?
Aesthetic surgery in Northern Cyprus is carried out under Cyprus Turkish Medical Association (CTMA) registration and within fully equipped private hospital facilities; the legal framework aligns with EU standards. At Nis Clinic, procedures are performed with a dedicated anaesthetist in centres that have intensive care and emergency response infrastructure, and every surgical procedure is carried out personally by Op. Dr. İbrahim Meyzin, CTMA Registration No. 969. Safety is not determined by location — it is determined by the surgeon's registration and experience, the hospital's equipment, and the pre-operative risk assessment. Cardiovascular and metabolic risk screening is carried out for every patient before surgery, and a patient who is not a suitable candidate is not taken into theatre.
What happens if a complication arises after I return home?
This question sits at the centre of our post-operative follow-up package. After discharge, contact continues via WhatsApp and online video calls; we monitor your recovery through the photographs you send and answer your questions the same day. Should anything unexpected occur, Dr. Meyzin becomes directly involved and, where necessary, refers you for coordination with a centre in your own country. Because an early departure raises the risk of complications, clearance to fly is subject to the surgeon's approval; keeping to the recommended length of stay minimises that risk. Follow-up does not end where the appointment ends — it continues until the result has settled.
